Zonta Club of Cleveland has been a community sponsor at the Cleveland International Film Festival for the past eleven years. Over the last eleven years, the club has sponsored films from all over the world that fit the mission of empowering women and girls. This year is no different.
‘Mediha’ – the film that Zonta is sponsoring is the story of how terror affects a person. Fifteen-year-old Mediha survived ISIS enslavement before making it to a refugee camp with her younger brothers. But the effects of the Yazidi genocide in Northern Iraq lingers on as she searches far and wide for her missing parents, chronicling her journey through first-person video diaries. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC.
The film will be aired on April 7, 2024 at 7:30 pm.
